Personal Update
This week, I wanted to do something different than the usual personal update, I have decided to do a screencast of the Chess.com home page and some of the features it offers, as well as some of the puzzles I do when I don’t have enough time to complete full games, or I’m just looking for something to do. I am also thinking about looking at doing some commentary of my games, or some live commentary while I play, I don’t know if that will be the most interesting way of displaying my games, so I might just do some clips of openings, great plays or, end games. Like usual, I have been continuing to play as much as I can, I feel like I am getting more into my own play style as I continue to progress, and I love the challenge players are giving me as I continue to get better. Overall, it has been a good week and I hope to continue being challenged.
Art Project
So, after weeks, I finally have some direction of what I want to do for a potential art project. As stated in last week’s post, I want to create a project that allows students to create their own chess board, allowing for creativity and for them to continue chess on their own time. A big obstacle for this has been managing cost and accessibility; I have found a solution to this. I am still brainstorming what I want to use as the base of the board, I could use paper and laminate it but that feels kinda lame. To make the squares, I have found black sticky paper that has good adhesive to it. I can cut this out into squares for the students and use this to fill the board. This is a start for me, I still have a long way to go to make this project work, such as the pieces and the baseboard, but I am starting to move In the right direction.
